Okay, your resume landed you that important interview. Now what?
The economy is placing thousands of applicants in the uneasy position of having to interview for a new position. For many, it is the first time they have had to interview in years. Let's face it, you only get one opportunity to make a great first impression and you had better be prepared. Before walking into that interview ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I confident in my interviewing skills?
- Do I present myself in a way that will differentiate me from the other candidates?
- Can I explain the value I would add to their team?
- During an interview am I certain how to correctly answer and ask questions?

Resume Analysis: Resumes are marketing tools that showcase an applicant's skills, accomplishments, and potential value to a prospective employer. Your resume is used to get you an interview. OceanView Advisory Services will review your current resume to determine its effectiveness based upon format, keywords, job titles and demonstrated skills that relate to the job you desire.
Interview Questions & Responses: We will review key interview questions that you will encounter during most interviews, as well as the appropriate responses to those questions. Remember, the goal of an interviewer is to determine whether you are a viable candidate for the position, possess the knowledge and skills needed do the job and if you would be a good "fit" with the company.
Mock Interview: Your new skills will be practiced during a 30 minute mock interview. During this session, your strengths weaknesses are uncovered. You will sharpen your interview techniques and learn how to communicate information the interviewer wants to hear, as well as which topics to avoid.
Written Critique and Feedback: After completion of the Mock Interview, your performance will be analyzed to determine your comfort level and readiness for an actual interview. Results and recommendations will be presented in written form.
Preparation before an interview can make all the difference in securing the position you want. Practice interviewing is important! Get together with a friend or relative and practice asking each other questions and offer critiques or suggestions on other ways to respond.
